Nathan Miller
Nathan was formerly the pastry chef at The Kitchen Cafe in Boulder Colorado, for six years. In addition to making the desserts at The Kitchen, Nathan’s talents included making chocolates as well as baking and styling wedding cakes. During his stint as the head pastry chef at the Kitchen, the restaurant was named Best Desserts by the Boulder Daily Camera numerous times.
Nathan Miller grew up in Marysville, Pennsylvania, where he relentlessly messed around in the kitchen concocting new recipes. After high school and vocational school for cooking, Nathan received a scholarship to move to Germany to study the art of baking. Upon his return, he headed to the Culinary Institute of America for the Culinary Arts program to round out his skills. After graduation he moved on to the Alsace region of France to learn more about European cuisine.
He eventually moved to New York City for his next opportunity and over four years, worked in extremely prestigious kitchens such as Danube, NL, Jean Georges, and Aureole.
Shannon Aten
Shannon is originally from Boulder Colorado and has always enjoyed being part of such a wonderful community. In 2006, she followed an amazing opportunity to move to New York City, where she got a job in marketing and finance.
Though she enjoyed her job, she felt as though she was missing something. In her spare time she started baking for her friends, co workers, and anyone that would try her culinary experiments. She sharpened her skilled with baking classes at ButterLane Bakery and took an apprentice position with Dessert Works in the Lower East Side.
With encouragement from her friends and family, she’s taking a giant leap, moving back to Boulder to rejoin her community and start this exciting new business!
